Kimball International proudly partnered with Western Youth Network (WYN) of Boone, North Carolina, for a renovation project of their administrative space. WYN is a non-profit organization that offers services for children, adolescents, and teens. Through prevention and intervention programs, such as mentoring, after school courses, and summer camp, WYN provides youth with the tools they need to reach their full potential.
The goal of the renovation project was to design an inspiring and welcoming area that would serve as a hub for WYN staff to work and meet with kids, as well as offer temporary workspace for visiting employees. It was important that the new space created an environment that would support the organization’s mission and facilitate their activities.
Kimball International’s collaboration with WYN began through our strong partnership with WJ Office, the selected dealer for the project. As a non-profit organization, WYN relies on fundraising efforts. Understanding these financial requirements, we worked closely with WYN to develop a design plan within their budget. Our live-design process and the utilization of OMNIA allowed us to visualize and coordinate all products and finishes, ensuring they met the specific needs of the renovation.

The completed project has received overwhelming praise from the WYN organization and the surrounding community. They especially appreciate the ergonomic sit-to-stand desks in each office and the flexibility of the collaborative and meeting areas. The uplifting and vibrant atmosphere of the space perfectly complements the life-changing mission of WYN.
The Western Youth Network renovation stands as a shining example of how a well-designed space, coupled with the right products, can truly make a difference in the lives of those it serves. We are honored to have played a part in this transformation and support their mission.
