The SOVA Innovation Hub was created to spark economic transformation by bringing business and education partners together, in one space.
This non-profit organization built a new, 15,000 square foot facility to bring an inspiring place to work and learn to the downtown South Boston, VA, area. SOVA, established in 2020 with Mid-Atlantic Broadband Communities Corporation (MBC) and Microsoft TechSpark, was developed to inspire people to pursue tech careers as well as enhance their digital skills. In addition to the learning programs, SOVA also offers courses to support entrepreneurs and small business owners, including dedicated workshops for high school and college students to prepare and cultivate them for digitally-focused career paths.
Specified by PSH+, the multi-floor, state-of-the-art facility includes collaborative work areas, coworking spaces, event and training rooms, and the Microsoft Experience Center. The second floor serves as MBC’s corporate headquarters, with private offices, conference rooms, and collaboration and break areas.
Kimball International’s National brand offered an extensive portfolio of solutions that allowed SOVA and MBC to design and create specific environments to suit their technology and functionality needs, in addition to their style. The ability to create flexible spaces that are conducive to productivity while providing a comfortable and practical environment make the SOVA Innovation Hub an inspiring coworking and learning destination.
